It was an emotional rollercoaster. On the 17.08.2017 the first baby was born at 6:50 am. Full of excitement we watched @mrslucythepug clean her baby. This was her very first birth and a very first experience for us. We were told that our Lucy would have two little babies. Her pregnancy was a shock for us as we did not have planned it and the father being a bolognese (Maltese) we had noticed the pregnancy very late. After two hours of waiting for the second baby I had called my vet to see if it is normal to wait this long, she told me on the phone that it can take up to 6 hours for the second baby to come and its perfectly normal. We waited for the baby calmly watching Lucy. 2 pm still no baby. I called my vet again to see if everything is okay. They told us to come right away. So we did. They had a room ready for us as soon as we arrived and tried to get the baby out. Nothing seem to worked. We were told that the second baby had died and needed to go to a hospital to get a C section for Lucy. In pain we rushed to the hospital wondering if we did something wrong or could have prevented it... At the hospital the doctor told us there might be a change that the baby is alive and did an ultrasound. A miracle. After being told the baby had died we saw a heartbeat on the monitor. So relieved, so happy the baby was still alive. Lucy had to get an emergency c section. We waited 1 hour outside of the hospital and then finally got to see Lucy and the newbie. They told us the baby was way to big for Lucy to naturally give birth and thats why she struggled so much. So I decided to keep the little fighter and call her Hope. Everything went well after all and I couldn't be more thankful. This is Hope and her sister. I will be sharing her journey as she grows up.
I created an instagram account for her and you can follow her for updates. ❤️
